Aloha! I had the best time planning a Hawaiian themed Awards Banquet for Zimbrick with the help of a fabulous employee committee. We started organizing this luau early summer when the weather was a little more island-y here in Wisconsin. :)
The idea of escaping to Hawaii for one night was inspired by the talented group Hale O Malo. They created an authentic experience for our guests including a lei greeting, live music, several dances, a conch shell blowing and even fire performers! They were truly amazing, and the best group of people to work with. I enjoyed figuring out the timing of all of their moving pieces and making sure the lighting was just right!
Centerplate Catering with the Alliant Energy Center hit the nail on the head with the island inspired hors d'oeuvres and entrees. We even had a signature drink - the Z Breeze!
Cedar & Spice (builders of creative event pieces) built us a custom surf wall for our photo booth operated by Oh Snap! Madison. Guests were having photos taken the entire night, and loved the interactive experience. Cedar & Spice also created a welcome beach sign directing Zimbrick guests when they entered the building.
All in all it was a fantastic tropical night and Jukebox Bandstand (thanks Marc!) kept the dance floor hoppin' right up til midnight. It was a pleasure creating this experience for 900+ guests!
